Why is the initial consultation so important?
During this appointment, your laser technician will provide detailed information on how the technology is used.
This appointment is essential as it allows you to get all the information you need about laser hair removal. Your technician will take the opportunity to assess whether everything is in order so that the laser treatment works effectively for you.
Does any laser treatment take place during the initial consultation?
It is important to highlight that during the initial consultation, no treatment will take place. Consequently, it is recommended that you do not shave prior to the consultation, so that the technician can assess the colour and thickness of the hair to be removed. The technician will let you know what will be appropriate to do for your first session if you decide to go ahead with laser treatment.
What is the ideal time to make an appointment?
You can make an appointment throughout the year at all our Epilia centers.
Would you like to be proactive and start your laser treatment earlier? Summer is then an excellent time for your first consultation at Epilia.
Have you been in the sun this summer or had UV sessions? It’s important to know that before starting your laser hair removal treatment, you need to wait until your tan fades on the area to be treated.
Why is this the perfect time to make an appointment?
Because the risk of burns is real.
You can already come during the summer for your first informative appointment. You can ask all your questions about the laser, and you’ll be ahead of the game to start your permanent hair removal treatment as soon as your skin is no longer tanned.
In autumn, our schedules fill up quickly, so you’ll avoid delays between your first consultation and your first laser session.

You can make an appointment directly on our website.
- By clicking on the “Appointment” button, you will be directed to the Progenda website. This is the booking management software chosen by Epilia to schedule appointments.
- First of all, you select the Epilia centre you wish to visit. We are located throughout Brussels and Wallonia.
At Epilia, your treatment record is kept centrally. This means you can book at any of our centres, anywhere in Belgium.

- At this stage, we ask you to enter your first name, last name, email address and mobile phone number. Your data is requested solely for the purpose of making an appointment at Epilia.
- You will receive an appointment confirmation email as well as a reminder email a few days before your appointment. You may need to check your email spam folder.
Good to know :
- The initial consultation lasts approximately 30 minutes. No treatment will take place during the first meeting with your laser technician. You therefore do not need to shave for this appointment.
- Your laser technician will let you know the procedure to be following for your next treatment.
- Autumn is the best season in which to start a laser hair removal treatment at Epilia, when your skin is completely unbronzed.

- You will receive an appointment confirmation email as well as a reminder email a few days before your appointment. You may need to check your email spam folder.
- You pay for your session at the end of each appointment. No nasty surprises as we never ask for payment in advance at Epilia.
Important instructions :
- No sun exposure during the treatment (no UV or self-tanning cream or lotion).
- It is fine to shave or clip the hair shortly before your treatment so that the hair is short (maximum 1 mm), no shaving for women’s faces or fine hair.
At what age can I start a laser treatment?
Permanent laser hair removal can be performed on minors from the age of 15, provided that one of the parents agrees and signs the consent form. The presence of the latter is also required during the first consultation (free of charge).
However, we recommend waiting for hormonal stability before starting laser treatment.
If not, then we are talking more about a comfort treatment than a definitive treatment.
I’d like to reschedule my appointment, how can I do that?
You can move your appointment up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. You can either cancel the appointment via the telephone answering services or via the confirmation email you received when booking.
You will receive confirmation of your appointment cancellation by email.
It is then possible to book a new appointment.
Good to know :
In the case of multiple bookings, it will be necessary to cancel all related appointments.
I’m running late or I forgot my appointment, what should I do?
To respect our commitment to punctuality, we would ask that you arrive 5 minutes ahead of the scheduled time for your appointment. Any delays may lead to cancellation of your session.
In the case of a last-minute cancellation of an appointment, this must be notified by phone to our telephone answering service.
Any cancellations of appointment with less than 48 hours notice or missed appointments, we will be obliged to ask that you pay 20% of your session amount, out of respect for those waiting for appointments.
I can only come at the end of the working day or on a Saturday, is that possible?
Our teams do their utmost to offer a wide time slot window in order to best meet your needs. As a result, we are pleased to offer late opening and we are also open on Saturdays.
Can I bring my child along with me?
No, as the laser presents a real risk.
Everyone in the Epilia treatment room must wear special protective glasses specific to the type of laser we use. These glasses are not available for children. Moreover, they cannot be removed under any circumstances.
Consequently, you will understand that your child cannot be present during your treatment, unless they can be left alone in the waiting room during the entire treatment process.
If necessary, please consider making childcare arrangements ahead of your next appointment.
Can I have laser hair removal at Epilia following my vaccination?
Laser hair removal is completely compatible with the Covid vaccine. There is no connection between the 2.
However, we would be grateful if you would cancel your appointment in advance if you are unwell or if you think you might be unwell following vaccination. This is to prevent any last-minute cancellations.
